When job candidate Roniesha Sanders contacted Job One Program Manager Nikki Walker seeking employment, it was clear that she was in special circumstances, as well as being a very special person. Like many Americans, Roniesha found herself facing extra hardship admisdt the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Roniesha was faced with even greater challenges that were specific to her. She had just been released from incarceration, during which she had been separated from her children. Thankfully, Roniesha was able to be reunited with her kids and was ready to do whatever it took to provide for them, keep them safe, and show them the meaning of hard work.
Hard work is exactly what Ms. Sanders put into the Job One process, securing not just one but THREE employment offers with local Job One business partners after taking advantage of every job description that was sent her way by our team. Armed with professional headshots taken by the Job One Employment Specialist, a shiny new resume, and a new outlook on life, Roniesha was all smiles next to her beautiful, beaming little girl and boy.
It was clear to us that what Roniesha needed the most was to be released from the stigma of her past and break through the employment barriers placed before her. Though she was physically released from the subsequent consequences of her actions into a world full of chaos, she was determined to grow and make a name for herself and her family. These stories remind the Job One and Seed to Oaks family of the mercy of God and the beauty of his greater plans for us all!
